Biofach goes India

Nürnberg Global Fairs is to launch a new Biofach trade fair in India. The International Organic Trade Fair will premiere April 29 to May 1, 2009 in the Bombay Exhibition Centre, Mumbai, India. On the way to becoming a key market for organic products, India's agriculture is traditionally organic, and many farmers have been growing organic for many generations. According to APEDA (2006-2007 records), the total quantity of organic produce exceeds 580,000 tons. Exports have reached nearly 20,000 tons, worth more than € 47 million. Biofach India - India's business-to-business platform for organics producers and growers from India and international suppliers, is the showcase for organic products in Mumbai, one of India's key economic centres with easy access for domestic and international trade buyers. Products on display include: organic coffee, tea and cocoa; organic fresh and dried fruit, fruit concentrates, fruit juices; organic spices and seasonings; organic cashew, walnuts, coconuts and other nuts; organic oils and oil seeds; organic grains, kernels and pulses; organic vegetables; organic rice, honey, sugar and syrups; organic essential and ayurvedic oils; organic aquaculture; organic processed and semi-processed food; organic cotton and cotton products.
