The MCH Group (formerly MCH Swiss Exhibition) and Beaulieu Exploitation SA together with Fondation de Beaulieu, the operating company and the owner of the Congress and Exhibition Centre Lausanne, have signed a letter of intent to integrate Beaulieu Exploitation into the MCH Group. This way the Group intends to expand its business activities in the French-speaking part of Switzerland, while Lausanne's status as an exhibition and congress location will be raised. Beaulieu Exploitation is to be run as an independent business within the MCH Group under local management. The congress and exhibition infrastructure will remain in the hands of Fondation de Beaulieu, which will continue to rent it out to Beaulieu Exploitation. Over the next few years, Fondation de Beaulieu plans to invest some € 66.4 million in modernising the infrastructure with support from the public purse (Beaulieu 2020 project). The political decision-making process should be completed by the end of 2009.
