Messe Frankfurt was in positive mood at its mid-year press conference on July 3, 2014. Chairman Wolfgang Marzin presented the final business results for 2013. “The company set a new sales record of € 544.8 million. With our highest sales ever and a top EBITDA of € 108.1 million, we have achieved important milestones”, he said. In keeping with this strong business performance, pre-tax earnings of € 49.1 million exceed those of the two previous years. At € 34.7 million, annual net income after income tax and other taxes was the second-best result in the company’s history. Marzin continued: “The global product portfolio is to be strengthened and expanded by enhancing existing events, by joint ventures and acquisitions. Focal points include Asia, Turkey and Russia.” The company also plans to continue investing in the exhibition grounds. According to current projections, up to € 500 million will have to be invested over the next ten years, said Marzin
