Rhenus at the “transport logistic China 2008

The “transport logistic China 2008” will be open for visitors at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre on 17 – 19 June 2008. The Rhenus Group will be presenting its range of services in Asia and Europe to the Chinese market there.

Rhenus IHG and Maxx Intermodal Systems will represent the Rhenus Group in Shanghai on stand 142 in Hall E2. Rhenus Logistics is also participating in the fair at the national Dutch pavilion. Hans Mahncke, the manager of Rhenus IHG in Asia based in Hong Kong has this to say: “The “transport logistic” provides us with a suitable framework to introduce our comprehensive range of services to potential customers and foster existing customer relations.”

While it is true that the Rhenus Group primarily focuses on Europe, it is also developing and providing concepts for exports from China to Europe and the rest of the world and in the other direction. Rhenus mainly uses sea and air freight for consignments to Europe, although it also makes use of rail services. The container logistics specialist, Maxx Intermodal Systems, for example, links Russia with major Chinese industrial centers via Zabaykalsk and Manzhouli.
Rhenus provides a wide range of warehousing and transport services in China itself. Rhenus IHG has the A-class license at all its Chinese offices (Dalian, Tianjin, Qingdao, Shanghai, Ningbo, Xiamen and Shenzhen) and can therefore handle any logistics services itself. Rhenus has a comprehensive network of business centers in Europe or it can make use of facilities provided by partner companies.

The People’s Republic of China is preparing to replace Germany as the world’s leading export nation. According to official figures, the volume of foreign trade in China amounted to more than US $ 2,000 billion in 2007. The EU accounted for at least 16 percent of Chinese foreign trade in 2006, making it China’s largest trading partner and the third largest foreign investor. As foreign trade grows, logistics services are expanding too. The demand for high-quality services in Asia is on the rise, and more and more Chinese companies appreciate a company that can provide them with services through the complete logistics chain from one source.
