The Damascus International Fair opened in the Syrian capital, Thursday, after five years of forced absence due to the conflict which has ravaged the country.
The fair used to be an important economic event for the Middle Eastern country before fighting broke out.
Some 23 countries are taking part in the fair this year, including Western nations such as Britain, France and Germany.
The Damascus trade fair is the oldest in the Middle East, dating back to 1954. The fair last took place in 2011, just months before war broke out in the region.
The fair runs for 10 days with sectors ranging from the textile to the agricultural industry. |
