The Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) has scheduled five new exhibitions and 30 major conferences for 2012. This is on top of the around 100 annual anchor exhibitions that it will once again host, including eleven which are the largest of their kind in the world or in Asia. In addition, organisers are expected to select the HKCEC as the venue for more than 1,000 corporate functions, banquets and entertainment events over the coming year. This business expansion is a direct result of the focused business development and services provided by the venue’s private management company, Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (Management) (HML), despite keen competition from new and expanding venues in Hong Kong and the surrounding region and serious challenges arising from periods of global economic turmoil. The five new exhibitions clearly demonstrate the diversity of events that HML caters for, focusing respectively on LOHAS living, India n property, antiques, frozen food, and diving and resort travel. They are organised by five different organisers, three of which are based in Hong Kong and the other two in the United Arab Emirates and the USA. Four of them are organising exhibitions at the HKCEC for the first time. (ja) www.hkcec.com |
