Competition staged by WirtschaftsWoche and Orgatec

 

Orgatec 2008, in cooperation with WirtschaftsWoche, is now presenting the Best Office feature for the third time. Under the heading Success Factor Office the competition s aim is to find the

office solution which is best tailored to the office

workflow, promotes the information flow between the employees and at the same time creates scope for ideas and visions. An important factor here is that the office solution not only ensures an

intelligent interaction between communication and

concentrated work, but through its attractive design also greatly contributes to recruiting employees and securing their company loyalty. Companies can submit their solutions up to 15th July 2008.

The two best solutions will be shown and presented

with awards at Orgatec 2008 from 21st to 25th October 2008 in Cologne.

 

Companies from home and abroad, whose office concepts have already been introduced and proved themselves in practical applications, are invited to enter the competition. Architects, interior

architects and consultants can also propose their

favourites in cooperation with their clients. The Best Office Award is presented in two categories, for the best domestic and best international office concept. The terms and conditions of

participation along with the registration forms can be

accessed at www.best-office-award.com. In order to participate in the competition, a questionnaire, which was developed by our scientific partner, the Institute of Ergonomics at the Technical

University of Darmstadt (Institut für Arbeitswissenschaft

der Technischen Universität Darmstadt - IAD), must be submitted along with photos of the office object.

 

Various factors play a decisive role in the assessment of the office solutions: the solutions should specifically support the company workflow. In addition they should clearly prove themselves in

promoting the employees creativity and motivation

thus increasing the company s productivity. With attractive design and form they should also generate a feel-good climate among the employees, and as a result, increase the personnel s identification

with the company. However, they should also

embark on new approaches through innovative concepts in the areas of furnishings, lighting, acoustics, floor coverings and media technology. And not least the office solutions should accelerate and

promote climate protection through energy-saving

concepts.

 

A top-ranking jury of experts, which consists of representatives from business, media and research as well as representatives of the companies which won the last Best Office Award, will decide on the

winner in the home and abroad categories. The

jury members are Prof. Dr. Ing. Ralph Bruder, Director of the Institute of Ergonomics, Technical University of Darmstadt, Peter Claussen, Director of BMW s Leipzig Plant, Oliver P. Kuhrt, Executive

Vice-President Koelnmesse GmbH, Prof. Dipl.-Ing.

Rudolf Schricker, President of the Federal Association of German Interior Architects (BDIA), Prof. Dipl.-Ing. Albert Speer, Architect BDA, Roland Tichy, Editor-in-Chief WirtschaftsWoche, and Jobst

Wagner, President of the Rehau group.

 

The winning companies along with their office concept will be featured in WirtschaftsWoche and also within the framework of an exhibition at Orgatec. The official presentation of the Best Office

Award will be held on 21st October 2008 during

Orgatec s evening opening event, at which Professor of Architecture, Dipl.-Ing. Albert Speer, will deliver the opening speech.

 

With the Award, WirtschaftsWoche and Orgatec are aiming to make a contribution to promoting state-of-the-art office concepts. Comprehensive solutions for office, object and facilities, which have an

effect on the Success Factor Office, will be

presented to the sector by Orgatec as a theme fair in exhibition space of around 130,000 m2. In this connection the focal points of furnishings, lighting, floor coverings, acoustics and media

technology will be presented.
